A family in Postmasburg
When it comes to stories of how people find the truth of God’s Word, one family in Postmasburg has a truly remarkable and straightforward tale: “I saw it on TV.” Their journey began with their disabled daughter, who, in a playful moment with the TV remote, stumbled upon an unfamiliar station – Homebase TV. As the mother entered the room, she was captivated by what she saw on the screen—a Christian program in their native Afrikaans language. Intrigued by this unexpected discovery, she called her husband Leon to witness the phenomenon.
Initially skeptical, Leon and his wife soon realized that the messages being broadcasted were firmly rooted in the Bible. As they dug deeper, they learned that the source of these inspiring messages was the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Eager to explore further, they inquired about the location of an Adventist church and discovered that the closest one was over 80 kilometers away in Kathu. Undeterred by the distance, the family made the pilgrimage to the Adventist church and, driven by their newfound faith, they were baptized.
